Barnevelder Pullets

The Barnevelder chicken originates from the Barneveld region of Holland and known for laying a dark brown egg. This beautiful bird has a single comb, is hardy and quiet, and doesn't mind being confined. They are known for their hardiness and for being good layers of dark brown eggs. They were bred to lay well, even in the long damp Northern European winters. Barnevelders are very rare in the United States which makes them quite desirable and highly sought after.

Sought after for their darker "chocolate" brown eggs, this beautiful breed is hardy, quiet and doesn't mind being confined. Curious, friendly and active, this dual-purpose breed makes not only a beautiful addition to your egg basket but also to your flock!
