The California Grey is a cross of a Barred Plymouth Rock male and a White Leghorn female. They are one of the most versatile and adaptable breeds, which is why they are perfect for urban backyard settings and homesteads. They are also great for busy households with children and other pets as they’re friendly and fairly docile.  They are up there with the best layers like the Rhode Island Red and will lay around 5 eggs per week. That’s a massive 260-300 eggs a year!
